5 Days from Marrakech to Fes and Merzouga

Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi N’tichka Pass -Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate

5 Days from Marrakech to Fes and Merzouga, Pick up at 07:30 A.M.Drive to Ouarzazate via High Atlas mountains and Tizi n’Tichka pass while enjoying superb views of the mountains and Berber Villages. We’ll stop to capture photos and enjoy the cool air.After lunch at a local restaurant in Tichka, continue driving to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, where families still live in a fortified Ksar.

We’ll have free time to discover this naturally decorated Kasbah, which has been the backdrop for many movies shot in this attractive area, like “Lawrence of Arabia”, and “The Mummy”… We’ll stroll and cross a dry river to discover Ait Benhaddou Kasbahs. Continue to your Riad in Ouarzazate, where you’ll spend your night/dinner.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Kelaa M’gouna – Valley of Roses – Dades Gorges – Boumalne – Tineghir – Todra Gorges

In the morning, following breakfast in the hotel, we leave Ouarzazate for Skoura, where we’ll visit the Kasbah of Amredil, a beautiful Kasbah situated in the palm groves, “Route of one thousand Kasbahs”.

Later, it continues through the Rose Valley and crosses the off-road with a quick visit to the nomad family living in caves.

Then Dades gorges and watches the rock formations.

After that, together we head to Boumalne Dades for Lunch in a local Restaurant.

Afternoon, continue to Tineghir town, then Todra Gorges to enjoy its amazing views of the Canyons.

Dinner /overnight in hotel/riad.

Day 3: Todra Gorges – Tinejdad – Touroug town – Erfoud – Boulmane Dades (Merzouga)

On the 3rd day of the Marrakech Fes Desert Tour for 5 days, this morning, you will walk around the Palm Plantations and enjoy the panoramic views of the Todra River. Later on, we drive toward Tinjedad for a lunch meal at a local restaurant. Later, you will pass by several villages such as Touroug (Berber village) and El-Jarf before reaching Erfoud.

You will visit a local fossil craft workshop. After that, you will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, which are also called Merzouga Dunes. Arrive at the hotel for overnight/ dinner, and breakfast.

Day 4: Merzouga – Desert Tour and Camel Trekking experience

Following Breakfast, at the Hotel/riad, we’ll enjoy our day with a 4*4 Excursion. Drive through dunes and stop to watch nomadic tents in addition to visiting a nomadic family and drink with them a cup of tea where we’ll discover what a nomadic, Berber culture, tradition, and life look like.

We’ll have an enjoyable excursion to the town of Rissani to watch the Kasbah. Lunch with a traditional meal of Moroccan pizza « Madfouna »

Back to the hotel to relax and be ready for an enjoyable experience, “camel trekking”. You’ll trek by camel (an hour and a half ) to the Sahara desert camp, where we’ll have dinner under the starry sky,  watching a spectacular Moroccan Berber show around the fire pit. (Overnight under a desert tent).

Day 5: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midlet – Azrou – Fes

early morning, enjoy sunrise in Merzouga Desert by camel riding back to the hotel /riad for Breakfast.

08:30H Depart to Fes, passing through Rissani and discovering the culture and traditional way of life of this town. In Addition, visit Zawiya Moulay Ali Ash-Sharif, the dramatic Ziz Valley, and another Stop at Dam el Hassan AL-Awal.

Have lunch in Medilt at a local restaurant. Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at the attractive cedar forest to enjoy time with the Barbary apes (Monkeys) leaping from higher tree branches, fresh air…Moving to Ifrane, Morocco, Switzerland, and Azrou village, with a visit to local nomads who live only in a cave.

Drink mint tea with them to learn more about their way of life and have information about their culture and Morocco’s Berber history.Finally, upon arrival in Fez, I transferred to the Hotel/Riad. End of 5 Days from Marrakech to Fes and Merzouga Desert To
