5 Days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert and back

Day 1 : Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Vip Morocco Trips organizes private tours from Marrakech to desert in guided tours across Morocco in 5 day-tour. Today we depart from Marrakech and we travel through the High Atlas mountains torwards Ouarzazate. We will stop for a visit of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou -a pearl of the region and declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ait Ben Haddou is a fortified village with beautiful, decorated towers. It is one of the most beautiful kasbahs in the Glaua region. Then we drive to the town of Skoura, situated in the heart of the palm tree-filled valley and from here, we continue through the Valley of the Roses to visit Dades Gorges, where we will spend this night in local hotel.

Day 2 : Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel trek

Today after breakfast, we will drive along the shores of Boumalne. All around us we can see rocky plateaus where camels graze. We will enjoy a journey full of ksours, oases and palm trees and we will reach city of Tinghir from where we head to Todra Gorge, whose walls are narrow and rise increasingly steeply (reaching 300 m in height). We will walk around the gorges and then we drive torwards the palm tree-filled area of Jorf,we will visit Erfoud, where the best dates in the country are collected. Then we will finally reach the desert – Merzouga dunes of fine golden sand. From local Merzouga hotel we will ride camels for around 30 minutes to reach desert camp in the middle of the Sahara desert and here we will spend a night in a Berber tent under stars.

Day 3 : desert tour of Erg Chebbi – visit of Rissani’ Souk – Merzouga

Today we will wake up very early to watch the sunrise from a high dune. After that we will return to the hotel in Merzouga to have breakfast and a shower after the night spent in desert camp. Then we will have a tour by 4×4 of the area surrounding Erg Chebbi. We will visit Khamlia village, where you will relax with a cup of tea with locals while enjoying a concert of the Gnaoua’s spiritual music. Then we will visit nomads in the desert. We will continue to Rissani to visit the big local souk and you can also try the Berber pizza in local restaurant. We will return to the hotel in Merzouga for lunch.

Day 4 : Merzouga – N’Qob – Draa valley – Ouarzazate

Today we will drive to the Dra’a Valley passing village of Tazzarine (featured in the film ‘Babel’). In the afternoon, we will continue our journey along the Dra’a Valley towards Agdz, passing oases and kasbahs. We will visit Morocco’s oldest kasbah – Kasbah Tamnougalt. The last part of today’s journey will be across the Tizi-n-Tinifft pass to the city of Ouarzazate where we will spend theis night.

Day 5 : Ouarzazate – Atlas mountains – Marrakech

Today after breakfast we will visit the cinema museum in Ouarzazate. Then we continue along the Ounila valley, passing beautiful and stunning mountains. We will have lunch in the mountains and we will reach Marrakech in the evening.
